New News!

Hello - after a long organizational pause!

This isn't an exciting post, but it's to make sure you all know that the new website is up and running, and it's time to get back to business...which is history and preservation!

This means it's time to update everybody on what we've been working on at the TCPA.

On the informational front, we've redesigned the self-guided tour and also our general tour. We'll be recruiting for new docents in September - through the website and the Cathedral (the property owner) - so get ready.

We need everybody, not only docents but people who like doing cement work, cleaning stones, gardening, or even handling those annoying things like financial recording or helping with the website. The date (in September) will be announced soon.

And if any members or prospective members are having problems with their memberships or renewals, please let us know with an email to tcpa@tolomatocemetery.com.

In the meantime, the message of this post is: Have a great rest of the summer...although you'll hear from the TCPA again well before the summer's end!

The Tolomato TImes is now the Tolomato Messenger!

Greetings to all from the Tolomato Messenger!

But you'll probably have to go to the Wayback Machine to find the Tolomato TImes (although I will post a link) but that was a blog we maintained for a long time to keep people up to date, not only on our events, but on items of historical or genealogical or any other interest that had come to our knowledge.

It was difficult to maintain, but with our new Wild Apricot based website, it's all together at last and a part of our commitment to keeping alive the real history of Tolomato and St Augustine.

At the moment, I am the editor and one of the chief writers...Elizabeth Duran Gessner, one of the founders of the TCPA...but you will soon see contributions from our members and friends.

Since Tolomato Cemetery is a distillation of St Augustine history, this could include all aspects of St Augustine's early history. Get ready to learn!

The times have changed and the Tolomato Messenger will be the new Tolomato Times. Pun intended.

So welcome all and get ready for some really interesting posts!
